Southern Meadows is unique in its location because it is not only close enough for a  family to commute to work in North Central Florida’s biggest city, Gainesville, but even closer to the world famous scuba diving, snorkeling, and swimming springs of this area.

The Ichetucknee Springs State Park is less than 6 miles away.  For those not familiar with the Ichetucknee River, it is mostly state owned on both sides, is crystal clear due to the dozens of springs that feed it, and flows into the skiing, fishing, and boating Santa Fe River not far upstream from the Suwannee River.  You could drive to Ginnie Springs in sixteen miles.  You would be within thirty miles of most of the other famous North Florida springs.

Southern Meadows is located just outside of Lake City, Florida. Lake City is  located at the crossroads of Interstate 75 and 10.  This makes for an easy commute to  Gainesville,  Jacksonville, or Valdosta.  At Southern Meadows you would be living in the lowest wind zone rating area in Florida reducing your risk from hurricanes, plus home construction cost and insurance costs.  Lake City offers great climate year round and is a strong, growing city while maintaining its small, hometown feel.

At Southern Meadows you will find 39 beautiful five acre estates.  Some of the properties are in pasture grass and others are nicely wooded in oak and pine trees.  Each property has ample paved road frontage and electricity is available to the front of each lot at no cost to the buyer.  There is no requirement or timetable to build.    However when you decide to build it must be 950 square feet or larger.  Modular homes and mobile homes are allowed providing they meet the minimum square footage and are 7 years of age or newer when initially placed on the land.  Farm animals are permitted with the exception of pigs.
